Transit Saturn Square or Opposite the Ascendant
When Saturn is opposite your Ascendant, it is also conjunct your Descendant. Please also see: Saturn transiting the 7th house for more detail.
The Square can be more stressful since it's likely making more difficult aspects however, you may have many first house planets in which Saturn will be Opposing. Each individual will experience these transits differently depending on many other aspects and placements of their personal chart. These are general assuming there are no other aspects being made.
Saturn by difficult transits Conjunction, Square or Opposition generally points to restrictions, blockages, boundaries, limitations, responsibility, or burdens to the house in which he is transiting. However, he also adds responsibility, maturity, and sober-mindedness along with clarity, self-reliance or independence.
In short, Saturn asks a lot of us. He is demanding and tough, there is no way around it. But, I will vouch for him, because no planet truly produces long-lasting stable growth like Saturn. He shows us that it's really up to us and the effort we put in to reach our goals and that relying on luck is temporary, inconsistent and unstable.
Saturn teaches us to grow up, be wise, move slow and methodically toward our goals, never give up because there is nothing like personal freedom through independence. You can't be a burden to anyone under Saturn. Saturn will make you independent, self-reliant, popular, famous, and to top it off a person with a solid reputation but you will need to weather the storm, overcome the obstacles and work within limits.
He likes to show us our flaws, and I'm talking up close, like with fluorescent spotlights and a magnifying glass. In our dissatisfaction, we do something to improve. This is why Saturn people ( ie. Capricorns, or aspects from Saturn to personal planets) tend to be well put together, polished and carry themselves with class. They are very conscious of themselves and they had to earn their act it did not come easy.
So, by transit Saturn seeks to refine, polish and strengthen the planet or point in aspect. With the Ascendant you may begin to feel the pressure to clean your act up. There may be an event that occurs or additional stresses and burdens put on you.
If you are married, your relationship will cool down and expect it to be tested. If your marriage is solid then you have nothing to worry about if it's not, then the problem areas will come into a clearer focus.
If you are single or married you may find relationships both love and friendships challenging or burdensome. You may find you yourself feel insecure now that you can see yourself with a microscope.
You might be running low on the accolades, and encouragement from others. You may find others are more critical or picky or you may become more critical or picky. You may struggle with bosses, fathers, boyfriends and any higher-ups, managers or people in charge, where it seems all are making unreasonable demands on you. Whoever will play the mean Saturn role, you will become aware of them.
However, positive experiences with Saturn's transit here is you may meet a very important relationship that will be very serious but perhaps add pressure to you in some way. You may take on a lot of responsibility for the sake of the relationship. If you make the relationship work, it will likely be very committed and stable.
Generally, it's a good time to make improvements of any kind, such as health and fitness, or to cut away relationships that are more trouble than they are worth. Clean house so to speak.
Your relationships, partnerships or marriage will be tested with the added Saturn's pressure, critical eye, and burdens.
On another note, If you have been too focused on relationships in the past the reverse may happen and you can find yourself in a dating slump, or there may be blockages to any relationship you wish to start.
If this happens it's because you are supposed to focus on yourself during this time there is something you are to do first.
Saturn wants us to work on ourselves, to have high standards of ourselves, to be our very best. Saturn's transits are approximately 2 1/2 years and during this time you will be strengthened, refined, and aware of the need to be independent and to gain the trust and confidence of those in authority.
Saturn isn't fun, so these times are usually lacking in zest, vigor or excitement is common. We are more reserved, critical and pessimistic or negative. We lack the luster, passion you know the kind that Neptune or Venus provides so sometimes we can fall depressed or find ourselves feeling dull. It's important to stay focused on the goal, to go slow and preserve your energy. Saturn's lessons are ingrained in us, they are not passing phases, they stick with us. We realize that it was us all along and our efforts that make anything happen, in our lives and to stop feeling sorry for ourselves, and just do the work. When we do, Saturn rewards us with a durable and quality life.
On a professional level, you might take on much more responsibility, or perhaps take a job working with people much older than yourself.
In love, you may fall for a person much younger or older than yourself. Your relationship also may be blocked in some way or burdensome. However, it very well could be true love and a lifetime mate but you will both need o pass Saturn's test and he's not easy.

Thank you so much. This is by far the best explanation of this transit that I have read.
