Pholus is one of the few Centaurs named in Greek Mythology that packs quite a punch Astrologically. It is often seen as a catalyst to a major series of events, or a turning point, it's even seen by transits in "coming outs"exposing, sudden break throughs or even a coming clean period, where one comes out to admit something. It seems to be functioning a bit like a mini Pluto causing big transformations, break throughs negatively, tragedies or exposures.
Pholus was famous for shooting himself in the foot with a poison arrow. We also can shoot ourself in the foot through the actions we take and Pholus by transit can bring about sudden irrational action, that can eventually shoot us in our foot if we are not careful.
Pholus also represents 3 generations in families, as the Myth goes he carried a flask that was a potion such as Grand Parents, Parents and children and can release family secrets, that have been kept down the family line, but is also responsible for inheritance passed on, meaning it's not always bad. Pholus was a bit wild and compulsive, well most of the Centaurs were a rowdy bunch, all but Chiron the more mature and experienced of them.
