Sun in the houses



Sun in the 1st 

This placement adds the solar power of the sun into the sign in the 1st house. What this means is that it will enhance the sign bringing out a stronger urge for self-expression. You bring a bit of sunshine everywhere you go. You might like to stand out and be noticed but if the other aspects encourage this rather than suppress it. Although the sign on the house matters along with the Ascendant and can alter this interpretation quite a bit. IN general terms the Sun here brings out a stronger personality and usually a strong desire to be noticed, or a need for attention. It would increase your zest, passion, and courage. Sun in the 2nd 

When the Sun is in the 2nd house of the natal chart, there is pride surrounding the earnings potential of the individual and their self-esteem may be somewhat attached to what it is they have to bring to the table in a material sense or what they may or may not be able to acquire in the area of possessions. The person would be sensual and focused on material security. They may be proud of their accomplishments and maybe a bit showy. This is not always the case, other aspects need to be considered.

With the Sun in the 3rd house, the person likes to be appreciated for their mind, communication or mental capabilities. The person may be an excellent communicator and multi-tasker. They will be quick-witted, and able to see many different perspectives. They enjoy learning new things and may have interests in many different subjects. They know a little about basically everything because of their curiosity they are always searching out new information. They are social and communicative and will find much a happiness and fulfillment in the areas of writing, technology, speaking, communication and sharing ideas.


 Sun in the 4th

With the Sun in the 4th house, the person usually has a strong attachment to home and family. They may be proud of their family or heritage. You are likely quite protective and may require occasional downtime, where you can have your privacy in the comfort of your home. Your family is very important to you and you will always be there for them. You may also be a family mediator whenever there may be upsets. You may enjoy researching topics such as history, genealogy. You might find you would do well in areas such as real-estate, mortgage or home design. You also may prefer to have your own business and work from home. You may have been raised primarily with your father or your father was the main authority figure within the home.

Sun in the 5th 

With the Sun in the 5th house, you are likely quite playful, lighthearted and good at games or sports of any type. You are romantic and enjoy going to parties, get together or doing things of leisure. You might be good at sports, or any of the creative arts that require creative expression. You are confident and perhaps a bit proud. This all depends on other aspects along with the sign on the cusp of the house. Generally speaking, you like to have fun  

Sun in the 6th 

With the Sun in the 6th house, you take great pride in your image. You may enjoy working out, eating healthy and taking care of your health. You are critical of yourself and perhaps even others. You have high expectations for your work and always put your best foot forward. You likely work hard in all that you do and are always there for someone in need. Much of this depends on other aspects and the sign on the cusp will alter the interpretation. You may do well in areas of fitness, health, and areas that require a routine or planning of any type.

Sun in the 7th

With the Sun in the 7th house relationships are very important to you. This is not only for love relationships but all partnerships in general. You may make friends and relationships easily and may tend to take the lead in your relationships. Marriage might be important to you. You may be sensitive to rejection and put a great deal of energy into maintaining harmony with others, but perhaps at the risk of your own happiness. It would be wise to take your time with people and although relationships with others and getting along is important try not to end up co-dependent on having relationships that you put up with too many things are not for your betterment. Co-dependency in relationships is possible with this placement. 


Sun in the 8th 

With the Sun in the 8th house here we have the solar power, identity, the personality of the Sun engulfed in the darker more unstable house of Pluto. You may be a secretive person that does not let others in easily. You hide a part of yourself until you feel safe with another. You enjoy uncovering secrets, solving mysteries and research or investigation. The 8th house is the house of secrets, psychology, and those things we don't like to openly talk about such as sex, money and power themes. There was a certain level of instability in early childhood. Whether it was a result of dramatic situations between the parents or others in the family. 

This indicates that you may have been exposed early on to the darker more seedier side of people. The sign on the cusp and other aspects are needed to define more clearly how this placement will affect you specifically. 

However, the general gist is that the person was exposed to situations that may have caused fear, upsets, or instability. The person grows to learn that knowledge is power. 

The individual may have been a part of or witnessed the drama, ups and downs, and instability in early life. As a result, they are brave,  intuitive, perceptive and can size people up seeing their true intentions regardless of what they may project.

The person will likely receive an inheritance or support from the father. 

In relationships, the person is observant, secretive and perhaps possessive or protective of those they love. 

Sun in the 9th

When the Sun is in the 9th house the person is born with a thirst for knowledge, adventure, and travel. You are optimistic and have an inborn faith in a higher power. You may enjoy learning about religions, or expanding your knowledge through education,  travel through exploring other cultures, reading or attending classes. You are smart intelligent regardless of your education level for you are always exploring ideas, philosophies, and answers to life's big questions. 

You may enjoy politics, government, law, religious or metaphysical subjects. You are adventurous and always up to exploring new things. Of course, other aspects apply and may alter the interpretation.

Sun in the 10th 

When the Sun is in the 10th house a person strives for accomplishment and is concerned with public reputation, and legacy. They are usually really good with people and in public events or get together. The person is likely a hard worker they tend to shine in the workplace where ever that may be. 

They are good at self-promotion, marketing, PR and or getting recognized. The father is someone they look up to or respect for their accomplishments. Or reversely they may look to impress the father with their accomplishments.

Where they stand in the world will be important and they will strive to make their mark. Others generally take a liking to them for they carry themselves with class and dignity. Owning their own business could also be successful along with any other endeavors they take on. 

Sun in the 11th

When the Sun is in the 11th house this indicates the person enjoys being part of a group or working for a larger cause. 

They make good team leaders or do well on a team working with others toward a goal. Friendships are very important to them and they tend to make friends quite easily. 

They value others and can get along with many different types of personalities. They are not judgmental and might find themselves rooting for the underdog. They have unique ideas and are very creative in using resources to benefit mankind or the group. They have high hopes and are typically quite social.

Sun in the 12th house

With the Sun in the 12th house, the person most likely grew up secluded, or spent much of their time alone unsupervised or left to their own vices. 

The reasons are many but in some cases, it was as a result of the parents either working a lot, or one or both parents were absent There was a lack of personal attention, protection, guidance or rules and regulations. They may have felt invisible, unheard or misunderstood often with others. One parent may have been preoccupied and inattentive or both. 

It is also instead possible that the family was religious or spiritual and even self sacrificing for the child. Both of these possibilities don't indicate a lack of love for they were likely very much loved but there was a lack of  guidance and supervision. The rules were relaxed and there was probably much freedom given to the child. 

It's also possible the child grew up with many siblings and felt as if they were often overlooked or that they were raised in foster care and felt like they had nothing of their own, and were just one of the many. 

Whatever the case, there was a lack of personal attention, and guidance. The child had to develop themselves and decide for themselves their own right and wrongs through trial and error when it came to social situations. They are very generous and kind and like to share. 

There may have been difficulty fitting in with others due to the lack of personal awareness or lack of personal boundaries. 

The person should focus on personal development through reading, studying and learning about themselves and about social graces and maintaining boundaries in relationships with others. The person often possesses many creative talents.
