Part 2: Beginner Astrology 101 course

The Sun Moon and Ascendant and what they represent

The Sun Sign ( Your Zodiac Sign)

The Sun symbolizes your basic personality. The Zodiac sign it occupies describes your character's essential qualities. 

This sign ( Your Zodiac sign) is also usually the easiest to find. It's what you mean when you tell someone "I'm a Cancer" or Capricorn, Aquarius or whatever you known sign is. If you don't know yours check below and match your birthday to the sign.

The Sun, by sign and house position, describes your ego's central traits. To an astrologer, your Sun sign describes your core personality. Many say it's the most important sign you have, but that's not entirely true. The Moon and Ascendant signs are just as important -- but they can't be accurately determined without an accurate birthday, place, and time, why many are unaware of them.

Important to note:

 The Sun changes signs approximately once a month. 

The Moon changes signs every 2 1/2 days. 

And the Ascendant sign changes every 2 hours.

However, having one's Sun sign information is "better than nothing, and can be helpful" but it's also seriously incomplete and quite general. 

Sun sign forecasts can define what's happening for you on a conscious level and to your self-image but that's not all there is much more to the Sun sign which we will get into further later on.

What about the Moon, What does it represent in Astrology?

Your Moon Sign

In astrology, the Moon symbolizes your inner self, the part of you that responds from habit, feelings, and instinct. It's your security, it's ruled by the sign Cancer, which rules the 4th house of home. So family and your inner private needs are represented by the Moon. In forecasting, it's your Mother or the women in your life but for you, it is how your respond emotionally, your inner being. If you are a sensitive or emotional person, you may recognize your Moon sign qualities more readily than your Sun sign. 

These traits are "who you are inside" ... an intimate side of your character only you and those close to you really know. 

In fact, your Moon sign may be very different from -- or even in conflict with your Sun sign traits. (another reason why trying to understand people by their Sun sign alone is not enough.

Forecasts based on your Moon sign reveal what's happening in your private life, your inner world, with your family situation and living conditions ..environment could affect your security, foundations, and feelings and overall you. Because they target your experiences literally "where you live" you are apt to relate to interpretations of your Moon sign just as much or much more directly than those based on your Sun sign alone. That's why a combination of your Sun Sign, Moon Sign, and your Ascendant would be an overall depiction of your personality combined. However, this is just a "prick of the pear" and not remotely close to the entire picture. There are then aspects to these planets that alter the sign and planet, but that's too far ahead so let's get to the Ascendant first. 

Your Ascendant Sign

Your Ascendant sign is also called your "Rising Sign." The two terms are interchangeable. It is literally the sign that was rising on the Eastern horizon of the sky in the place and at the moment (time) of your birth. Because the Ascendant sign changes every two hours all day long, Yours obviously depends on the exact time you were born.

Only if you were born near sunrise will your Ascendant sign possibly be the same as your Sun sign ... and it is completely independent of your Moon sign. Yet this third component in your horoscope gives information about how you appear to other people ... and how you take on the world.

Your Ascendant describes your temperament, it's the lens you view the world through that forms your perception as well as your overall outward personality. Similar to the 10th house(Public, Career) it's also how others would describe your personality. It's  the personality you put "on public display." It's the side of your character you allow the outside world to see, your interview face. People that are very close to you will get to know your Sun sign, the inner you. If you look up descriptions on your Ascendant sign, you will see you will relate to it quite a bit, because it is truly more than a mask, it's the real you but not the intimate you.

Different birth times, on the same day, explain why they can have very different personalities, different strengths and interests, and different life experiences.

Forecasts based on your Ascendant will be the most descriptive and accurate regarding your life circumstances and immediate future based on transits to your houses in your natal chart. You will relate to such information very readily ... which makes your Ascendant sign information even more crucial than that based on just your Sun sign.

The three components of your character will provide three different views of you and your life ... all of them valid. And here's another tip: If you know your Moon sign and Ascendant ... and read astrology information for all three  you'll see many different sides to your personality and even deeper parts of your life and your journey.

MARS RETROGRADE: The Gods are sexy

The Gods are sexy. Caught your attention, Ha! this was the name of an art exhibit in Los Angeles, a friend told me about. I didn't go, but I had to "laugh". I do have to say, being a God is kinda sexy, and I know you agree. Take your pick. It all depends on what you're into. You know," your type". 
They live within all of us. In the dating world, it's as so. You like the conservative, strict, critical businessman? that is cool as cubes? That's Saturn. You like the rough, tough go-getter, or a fearless fighter? even warrior? that's Mars. You like leather and lace? and role play games, obsession, intensity, and drama? Well, that's Pluto (or Lilith for the guys). How about the guy that comes right out of the scene of the most romantic movie you have ever seen? that's Neptune. By the way for you guys, the Goddess's are super sexy too! but in this post, I'm posting about Mars Retrograde so. 

Ok, that's actually not the purpose of this post but I thought I would have some fun with it. 

This post is strictly about Mars. I decided to "highlight" him since this month he will turn Retrograde on the 26th. So in honor of him, I will post here what I posted to IG.

"The gods are sexy.... in honor of the God of War “ MARS and his "extra long stay" in one area of our life. This Mars energy is giving us courage, determination, and the audacity to just go for it, say it, or just make it happen. We go about our desires, fearlessly and without a thought, perhaps a bit too thoughtlessly. Just do it! is the “motto of Mars” which is also, by the way, Sexy. 

Mars will turn Rx otherwise known as "Retrograde Motion" (moving backward) "reviewing" on the 26th of this month. This phenomenon is known as an optical illusion it appears to move back. When it's really when Mars speed matches or catches up to that of the earth. Therefore appears to move backward.  

What it means for us mere humans is that we will strategically, methodically and wisely plan our steps rather than just push and shove our way to our goals after the 26th. And, this my friends is giving us an almost “certainty” of success in whatever we want to accomplish in the next two months and with less of a fuss ( if any) left in the wake. 

When Mars is retrograde it's best used to strategically plan our next moves, slow down a bit to avoid frustration. But the house in where Mars is transiting for you will likely see much come to fruition or accomplished. Tap into your warrior spirit, be brave but also wise.

Those that have Mars Retrograde in their birth-chart are strategic and brave, they can perfect their actions, and become amazing athletes, or strategists. They are planners, practicers, and perfectionists. They think before they act.

Asteroid Union In love and timing of Love

One of the Asteroids that I have been tracking for many of my clients is the Asteroid Union when it comes to partnering with important people that seem to want to invest in you or partner with you.

 It could also point by transit to a new relationship. In synastry, it points to a relationship that is based on mutual advancement in some way or points to support to each other in their career endeavors, emotionally and even financially.

They will be committed to helping each other to the best of their ability or committed to providing assistance in whatever way they can. There are many benefits to the transit of Asteroid Union only there are many other factors to consider, as always with Astrology. The sign in which it is in, along with other aspects being made will alter the interpretations. 

For instance, Saturn can block the effects, Pluto can intensify it, Neptune can make both parties more compassionate and even overtly generous or idealistic in their dealings with each other. Asteroid Union is important in the timing of love relationships but also in synastry you will often find that Union makes aspects to important points or planets in synastry with very significant partners. 

Juno Transits are perhaps a bit stronger in terms of pointing to the meeting itself and I will discuss that in another post or you can read the post called " Love Transits" for more about the timing of very important love transits coming into one's life based on many of the asteroids and transits occurring with them.

Aquarius Zodiac Sign

Aquarius is the 11th sign of the zodiac, it's ruler is the planet Uranus and its ancient rule was the planet Saturn. Today they are ruled by both Uranus and Saturn. 

Uranus in mythology is the father of Saturn. While Saturn represents convention. Uranus represents the unconventional. Aquarians are future forward, they live in the future. Being an air sign they are deep thinkers, analyzers, and very objective. It is this objectivity that makes them special. They are able to see all sides of a point of view but because they have solid footing thanks to Saturn. They can make solid decisions and often these decisions are based on whats best for all although they are often misunderstood.

They like to improve upon things, and nothing bothers them more than anything stagnant, stuck or not working. They sometimes act out in rebellion just to stir others, they like to get a reaction and to stir the minds of those around them. 

They are the revolutionaries, the scientist the artists and the brilliant minds behind most new and innovative things. They need to know everything. They are always searching for answers. Their Motto is " I know" so they often do have many solutions to life's problems. This is because they are constantly seeking, going the other route, asking questions, and seeking out truths for themselves not according to what everyone is telling them.  They are the ruler of the 11th house which is the house of the people, humanitarian efforts, and things of importance to the future of mankind. 

Early on they can be erratic, rebellious and inconsistent as they learn to work with the Uranian erratic energy. Humanitarian is what Aquarians are called. Although this may not be always prevalent or obvious, there is a reformer in them. 

They can get along with all types and often have a wide variety of friends from all walks of life. They are reformers and most of their friends or people that know them might not even realize they are being reformed in some way or pushed outside of the box. They are often for the underdog and not all that fond of the convention but more about the future and what it holds for mankind. 

Aquarius is an Air sign, often misunderstood as a water sign. They are like the wind, they can change course quickly and flourish in unpredictability. They are a mental sign, constantly questioning everything. They are open-minded to all possibilities but also have very strong opinions of their own. Their motto is " I know" and it is the result of constantly trying another way, seeking truths for themselves through experience and an open-mind attitude that leads them to many discoveries. 

They seek to know and understand in order to make others lives and society as a whole better in some way. Although they are often misunderstood, or they misrepresent themselves. They can be challenging, Uranus is the planet of out of the box thinking and upheaval in order to promote change. When things get stuck or outworn we need to be able to move with the needed evolution and change. If we don't then that's when Uranus comes in to bring us the unpredictable or push us out of our stuck patterns often through sudden, shock and awe energy. Aquarians can bring this energy to others.

Each zodiac has its role to play and it's contribution and Aquarians bring us the unpredictable. 

Aquarius is an Air sign, often misunderstood as a water sign. They are like the wind, they can change course quickly and flourish in unpredictability. Aquarians in love, need to be shocked as well, they need to be both physically attracted but their desired has to have their wits about them, they are usually mentally stimulated and like partners that can allow them the freedom and space to pursue they mental interests and experiences but also one that can mentally stimulate them. Their better match is with their opposite sign Leo because the two balance each other very well or any of the other Air signs or fire signs, Sagittarius does really well also. However, there are many more aspects that make a person than their Sun sign alone and relationship compatibility requires many factors to be considered so there are some Leo's and Aquarians that will not do well together. Aquarians can be very loyal, to those they love, most are big about honesty or integrity. Some are very unconventional and prefer alternative lifestyles while others are truly committed to those that capture their hearts. The is key is to allow them space, blow their mind with something ingenious, or attract them to your quirky individualism or simply be authentic. They appreciate people that are not afraid to be themselves.

Blue Blood Super Moon Eclipse in Leo, Yep! January 31, 2018

No that's not the name of a hot new mixed drink, ha! Although it sure sounds like it could be! Nor is it a Moon for all the blue blood's out there, or maybe? 
OK, let's get to what we do know about it. 



Blood Moon's occur as a result of an Eclipse, this is when the atmosphere acts like a filtered lens. It bends red sunlight onto our planet's shadow and scatters out blue light. It's the same reason why sunrises and sunsets appear reddish. 

A Blue Moon is when two Full Moon's ( or Super-Full Moon's as in this month's case) occur in the same month. Blue Moon's aren't actually "Blue" it's just the name. They are rarer than regular Full Moon's that occur once a month. Blue Moon's tend to happen approximately every 2 1/2. The Term Blue Moon is relatively new and was said to come to term by error it's not an actual astronomical term. Apparently, it was completely by an error that happened in the 1940's.  The word got out fast, and everyone was talking about this Blue Moon. Its popularity has now become a term which we equate to Two Full Moon's in a month, the second in the month is called, the Blue Moon. This goes for the saying "once in a blue moon" which now we know really isn't so long. 

A Super Moon is a powerful energetic signature in Astrology that brings stronger awareness, illumination of the subconscious, we usually experience heightened emotions, intuition and sometimes even enhanced psychic awareness. Full Moon's in themselves bring things to awareness but also to fulfillment according to what was started at the last New Moon.  

A Super Moon is such a sight to see because they are huge and gorgeous they often look surreal, you can see lots of detail. What we see affects how we feel, but even if we don't see it we can still feel the stronger emotions. Hence, why some people say the crazies come out on the Full Moon. We can be emotionally charged so it's always best to reflect but not to act out under its influence. This is of course as far as making any solid decisions or acting out on impulse, usually not a good idea. Listen to your heart but don't act immediately, see how you feel a day later then if your sure take action.   It's a great time to set intentions, light candles and write out in a journal all your hopes and wishes, thoughts, feelings along with any changes you would like to make or things you would like to achieve.



Super Moon's also known as a Perigee appear larger because it's when the Moon is closer to the earth. The moons influence thus brings about stronger more powerful emotions, illuminations, and realizations. As a result, we can sometimes feel sad, angry, happy or nostalgic and more romantic. Essentially we are much more sensitive to everything. This illumination and newfound subconscious awareness is always positive. Even if it doesn't feel so at the time. This is because it's something we need to become aware of,  it's all needed clarity! That's really a large purpose of Astrology anyway, which is to bring the subconscious into awareness. So we can consciously direct our lives rather than be "subconsciously directed" by the planets. 

What we discover will help us in the future. We can then implement things, make changes and send our requests to the universe/god for a better future or ask for help and guidance.  Eclipses are about endings, finalizing, and then beginning new. Something often ends or is brought up to finally get closure. It can also instead influence us to close the door ourselves and move on. Perhaps we decide to change direction in our lives.  Eclipses are the end of an old way and the beginning of a new way this can take form in many different ways and in a multitude of different areas of our life for each person it will be different. However, in order to end whatever needs to end, it must first be brought to awareness that now is the time, whatever it is that needs to be dealt with. Sometimes we know what it is, but choose not to deal with it. Other times, it's something we were not aware of and can come as a complete surprise! So things that we have been putting off or avoiding can come into focus in order to move forward and clean the slate or to finally get something started.  If there is nothing that has been in the waiting then new opportunities can present themselves. New doors open and you will find you are on a fast track to whatever does open up or begin.  So either way, eclipses are positive they force things to the conclusion that need to be handled then open new doors and present new opportunities.


This Super Full Moon Total Eclipse is happening in the Sign of Leo. Leo rules the heart and is ruled by the Sun which represents our pride, courage and our passion for true self-expression and to be recognized for our talents.  Look at where the sign Leo occupies in your chart to know more about the area of your life in which you will have a greater focus for the next month. Things in this house will likely activate. You will likely experience a surge of new activity and opportunity.

January 2018 Monthly General Horoscope Forecast

Wow! time flies, right?? it's 2018! This year went by so fast I need to catch up! Did you guys see the New Year Super Full Moon, it was spectacular! a true sight to see in all its gigantic gloriousness!

Well, it's the end of a numerological 1 year, where many of us were under a great deal of pressure of trying to find our way, it was hectic as it should a 1 year is about paving new paths and can be overwhelming and stressful but there are definite results. However, each of you has your own personal year really takes the lead. But generally speaking, 2018 is a 2 Year, which is about working together, partnerships, and relationships. Not like last year where it was a 1 year about the individual, this year is about partnerships.




Anyway, getting back to Astrology, we have two Full Moons in the Month of January. The 1st was on the 1st or New Years and the 2nd will be at the end of the month on the 31st. The month-end one is a partial lunar eclipse in Leo. Check out the house Leo is in for you but it's about stepping out, having the courage to express yourself and grabbing a bit of the limelight.

Even those of us that prefer to be behind the scenes, ( speaking for myself). The other big News is Saturns move into Capricorn, this will actually be good since Saturn does well in Capricorn you know they got the same energy and all. So basically wherever Capricorn is in your chart, you already approach things there Saturn-ish. Saturn in Capricorn will help build up that house in a big way, they both demand hard work, but let's just say we will do it we have no choice and... Saturn rewards like no other planet with stability, structure and hey, he's the God of Harvest! Hello! I'll take some of that.

Next up! Uranus turned his engine back on and is finally moving direct so expect the unexpected. As of the 2nd, he's in full speed ahead! He is literally lightning fast and too far ahead so he can use a little Rx motion. Here we have new shocks, awes and excitement he likes to shake us hard enough to wake us out of our deep sleep. Often throwing us a curve ball to make sure our reflexes are working. He's refreshing, shocking and a bit of a lunatic but a necessary part of our evolution. All the planets have a role and if we follow suit, things tend to work out well. No, It ain't easy, and as my mother always said " no one said it would be easy". The truth is it's sometimes it's damn hard. Well, we are here to evolve, right?? Evolution is happening all around us, so we don't have much of a choice. We can evolve or we can devolve, is that even a word? ha! Anyway, I'm not about to lecture any Astrology fans. You wouldn't be here studying Astrology if you weren't in on this. Astrology people are sharp as a tact! all the brilliant minds and highly evolved souls learn Astrology. To bring the subconscious into consciousness and take control of our lives! We don't be subconsciously directed by the planets, instead, we will be consciously guided by our awareness of the subconscious influences. That was a mouthful. 

Another great thing is all the planets are in direct motion. Meaning moving forward and that means things in our lives can move forward. So, it's not often all the planets are direct, so take advantage of it. Plant seeds now, so you can reap the rewards when they move Retrograde, rather than having to back track and say " shit, I should have done this or that! I'm sure we will still have a little of that even if we planet our seeds. But remember Retrogrades are when things come back. So make those sales calls, drop off those flyers or whatever it is you do for work. It's now our chance to get things moving! And guess what? We only have until March 8th, before all the Retrograde fuss again and if we didn't planet our seeds, there will be lot's of hold ups.

Yep! They all start doing the Rx thing again which can slow us down and even halt our plans. Kicking it off will be Jupiter on March 8th, 2018, followed by Mercury March 22, 2018, then Saturn on April 17th, 2018. AND... by the way, this year we get Venus and Mars Rx too! these don't Retrograde but every two years. But let's not get to ahead of ourselves.they turn Rx until later in the year, starting with Mars on June 26th, then Venus in October. BUT, Whew! it's gonna get whacky later on with all the planets Rx.

Let's just stay in the now, with the planets in direct motion it's the best time to get things done so get finishing, concluding or pressing on. You have time to be held up again when the Retrogrades start and why it's important to make your moves now.

So, this Month, I want us to enjoy the steadfastness of the planets.

NEW MOON IN CAPRICORN JANUARY 16th 2018: Powerful!

Hey Everyone! my warmest regards to you all! If you know me by now, you know I like to get straight to the point. So here goes...

This New Moon in Capricorn, tomorrow night, is straight-up powerful! and not to mention lucky! The sign Capricorn isn't known for luck at all more about realism and hard work.   He takes after his ruler which is Saturn, the  planet of Karma and hard-work, along with restrictions and blockages. Doesn't sound very lucky eh?  

Here is the deal, as yucky as Saturn can be, he is the ruler of Fame. Yes, I know, what??? But he is! He rules the 10th house of Career, Fame, and Legacy. It's not so easy to achieve great career success and fame let alone leave a legacy!! but if anyone can help you do it, it's Saturn. 

New Moon's give us the opportunity to clear away what's not working and to begin working on what will. New Moon's bring opportunity to grow and expand a particular area of our life. It brings our attention and focus to this area in which we can see some REAL results. Look to the house in which Capricorn Occupies in your chart to see where your focus will be and where you will likely be exerting your energy all month. You will be building this area until the Full Moon on the 31st of this month. 




What makes this New Moon so powerful? Well, for starters it will be conjunct the "God of Wealth and Power" Pluto pointing to transformation but also powerful focus and determination. Yes, it can point to intense emotions, or intense outter situations that occur. However, there are some very positive smoothing aspects occuring such as a conjunction with the planet of love, beauty and diplomacy, Venus and a passionate and determined sextile with Venus's lover Mars. This is a passionate New Moon for sure.  It is also in a close sextile to Jupiter the planet of luck and fortune. We all know Jupiter makes things bigger too, or enhances the planet possibilities. Jupiter and Pluto alone,  scream big money especially with the Moon and even moreso if in the 2nd or 8th house. However, making this New Moon ultra sexy is it's very close conjunction with asteroid Eros at 1 degree. Let's throw in its exact trine at 0 degrees with the asteroid Destinn.  It Appears to be destined whatever occurs.  Eros is all about love, how sweet is this New Moon? These are some powerful aspects! Jupiter and Pluto aspecting this New Moon can indeed be a bit over the top, that's for sure. Pluto is powerful and Jupiter just eggs him on saying is that all you got? More, More! he surely makes whatever happens bigger. I do see this as a Money Moon, but it's certainly more than that. It's a love manifestaion and money Moon. In addition it Looks like something fated or meant to be will occur as well. Without looking at your chart I can't be very specific, but generally speaking this is a New Moon with a lot of positive potentials.

An example of what can occur would be a positive message ( Jupiter) about a love interest or someone you love ( Eros) could be a family member too. Something transforming with Pluto, but also something dramatic, powerful and even life changing. Pluto is deep he likes to uncover true motivations, and aims to find out how we really feel. So for some, this can be an intense new moon with depth and whatever occurs is destined or necessary for your growth.  I'm feeling "passion"! and lot's of it.  There are many different ways in which this New Moon will affect each of us. It won't be the same for everyone and I can't possibly write out the many different possbilities. But let's just say it fate is involved. We will have power, luck and determination to follow through on the area in which this New Moon occurs and can see some real tangible results at the Full Moon at the end of the month.  Pluto can bring about intense desires, feelings or experiences in order to light a fire under our rears as well so if something dramatic does occur know that It will sort itself and see it as a opportunity to resolve whatever it is. 

Alternatively, It could also be that this New Moon brings about a massive transformation in the house that it occurs. The Moon rules home, family, security the mother and or women, but also money with Venus this should be essentionally positive. However,  it will be different for everyone.




I personally see this New Moon as a big money Moon especially for those with Capricorn in their 2nd or 8th house. However, the aspect with Jupiter is a lucky one and this means regardless the news should be positive and big, add Venus and it's looking even better for money. It may not be news, like an actual message or phone call, but it can be an illumination that will open a new door of opportunity for you, or set you on the right course. 

New Moon's bring new beginnings, fresh starts, and tremendous focus. We get a universal push or a  " Hello"! pay attention to this! we are kinda forced to deal with whatever it is that comes up. They force action, and it's often the necessary action that we have been putting off. 

 If it's not a message, or it's not a conclusion, then it will be a fresh approach and a new opportunity that presents itself.   Because it's so positively aspected it means that you will have luck focus and the willpower to go about what needs to be done.

This Aspect points to a person that has a cautious, and reserved nature. They are usually very attractive, the kind that you want to bring home to mom and dad. They may pay a great deal of attention to their appearance and how others see them. They are usually well dressed, neat and refined. 

Saturn is the planet of older people so although the person might be young, they tend to appear older, they are very mature for their age. While young they may have spent more of their time around adults, or preferred to as opposed to those their own age. 

They have high standards of themselves and may come across as if they are better than others or even entitled in some way. They can be perfectionists. They are responsible, and not frivolous. They can be conservative and like tradition. They have high standards and strong opinions on what's right and wrong. They are not the spontaneous types they like to plan and prepare. They likely have a very nice wardrobe, of classy gear.

They can be crtical or judgemental, or pessimistic because they have high standards. They tend to do the right thing. They are wise, smart and well contained. They are serious and may have a difficult time letting loose and relaxing but this is not always the case. 

These people often grew up fast, and can be great advisors. They seek respect and recogniton and are usually very successful in business, sales, or any profession where they are the face of the company they present very well.

Although they appear to have it all together, they may struggle with insecurity, but this is because they have such high standards of themselves. 

In love, they are not the most spontaneous, and they usually move slowly. They like fine food, and fancy places and wine. The Square can be more stressful since it's likely making more difficult aspects to other areas of your chart and planets. Each individual will experience these transits differently depending on many other aspects and placements of their personal chart so writing general about aspect by aspect is often very different for each person and based on many other factors. These are general assuming there are no other aspects being made.

Saturn by difficult transits Conjunction, Square or Opposition generally points to restrictions, blockages, boundaries, limitations, and or responsibility, hard work, and burdens. Some experience a promotion or their business get's really busy, so it's not always negative it can be a very busy time and this is usually great. However, if you haven't been doing the work prior to this transit he will hold you accountable. Often it is the blockages that we experience that gets us to get our rears moving. That's his philosophy and it works. Saturn produces results, he is the God of harvest after all. If you haven't been planting your seeds then you will start now.

If you have you will start seeing the results of your hard work. So this can be very positive yet busy and perhaps be draining. You usually don't have the highest energy at this time. This allows you better time management. You will work smart not so hard, well if you use this transit correctly anyway. There is no time for doodling during this transit. He makes us grow up and take responsibility for our lives. He is wise and is the God of time, and Karma he knows a bit. He has a sobering effect, so we can focus, not get carried away in yesterdays drama or hallway gossip. We just need to get stuff done and you will during all Saturn Transits.

In short, Saturn transits can bring about a shortage, or conversely an overage. However, he feels you need it to be in order to get yourself some results. He's doesn't care about that heartache you went through, or how someone let you down. He cares about you being independent, so you don't need anyone else for your happiness. There is nothing worse than being heartbroken and broke. Or reliant on someone that controls you, or restricts you, so Saturn transits are always about the individual. I think if you think of it this way, it will help if you have any difficulty. I will vouch for him because no planet truly produces long-lasting stable growth and maturity like Saturn. He shows us that it's really up to us and the effort we put in to reach our goals will be rewarded it's that simple, even if slow to come, it will come. 




Saturn teaches us to grow up, be wise, move slow and methodically toward our goals, to not let our emotions get the best of us to stay focused on a goal and achieve it. He is the ruler of the 10th house of fame, and legacy for a reason. He wants us doing the right thing, working hard, and creating our happiness through material abundance and a clear conscious. You can't be a burden to anyone under Saturn, they will likely let you down. Saturn will make you independent, self-reliant, popular, famous, and to top it off a person with a solid reputation but you will need to weather the storm, overcome the obstacles and work within limits and most importantly do it ethically.  

Saturn will show us our flaws, and I'm talking up close, he also will show us others flaws, our weak links. We will see things clearly and be able to make better decisions. Don't let the pity part start, instead take action to make improvements, it's the only way. You will be so happy you did when it's over.  In our dissatisfaction, we do something to improve. This is why Saturn people ( ie. Capricorns, or aspects from Saturn to personal planets) tend to be well put together, polished and carry themselves with class and climb the social ladder. They are very conscious of themselves and they had to earn it, it did not come easy. 

So, by transit Saturn seeks to refine, polish and strengthen the planet or point in aspect. With the Ascendant you may begin to feel the pressure to clean your act up. There may be an event that occurs or additional stresses and burdens put on you. 

If you are married, your relationship may cool down and perhaps it will even be tested. If your marriage is solid then you have nothing to worry about if it's not, then the problem areas will come into a clearer focus. Saturn seeks to find the weakest links and if there are none then there won't be anything to go wrong. He does not create problems he shows us up close what they are so we can fix them or cut our ties.  

If you are single or married you may find relationships both love and friendships challenging or burdensome. 

If you are single, you may find your more willing to put in the effort for a relationship and may prefer a commitment as opposed to dating. You can meet a very solid relationship at this time, although there may be more responsibility and the relationship may go through many tests. Again this is Saturn making sure the relationship has a solid foundation. You may need to work hard together to keep the relationship, or one or the other might have baggage or something that requires more dedication and responsibility in a relationship. I have seen some get married and some get divorced so it really does depend on the individual situation. 

Initially, you may lose a bit of steam or feel overwhelmed and perhaps even a bit insecure don't worry Saturn will help you work that out. It's also possible you may find others are more critical or picky or you yourself may become more critical or picky. You may struggle with bosses, fathers, boyfriends and any higher-ups, managers or people in charge where it seems they are all are making unreasonable demands on you.

Positively you can make changes in your relationships for the better. You might be very busy with work and may even be recognized or accomplish something that brings attention to you. 

It really depends on how structured you already are and how well you handle challenges. People with Saturn hard aspects tend to do well under this transit. Because they are used to hard work and being focused. Those that are less focused and tend to take shortcuts might have another things coming. 

Generally, it's good to take stock of your effectiveness, set boundaries and manage your time and efforts more effectively. If you find you are facing many blockages slow down and makes plans to be more effective. It's also good for making improvements of any kind, such as health and fitness, or to cut away relationships that are more trouble than they are worth. 




Saturn isn't known to be the fun planet, it's slow and somber so these times are usually lacking in zest, vigor or excitement and have a more serious tone. We are more reserved, critical and pessimistic or negative. We lack the luster, passion and the feel-good feeling. You know the kind that Neptune or Venus provides so sometimes we can fall depressed or find ourselves feeling dull. It's important to stay focused on the goal, to go slow and preserve your energy.  Saturn's lessons are ingrained in us, they are not passing phases, they stick with us. We realize that it was us all along and our efforts that make anything happen, in our lives and to stop feeling sorry for ourselves, and just do the work. Let's face it, Saturn transits in hard aspects are just that, HARD. But if you do the work, you will be rewarded. Saturn is the great teacher but he's a tough one and he doesn't play favorites we all have to have him pick on us, don't feel alienated, because every 7 years he makes tough aspects to everyone's planets, well just about. He shows us our weakest points and then points at them some more until we do something about it. This is not pleasant being shown the negative stuff, or the not so pretty. He strips away Neptune's illusions and shows us what's really there. Yikes, in the 1st house or in aspect to the Sun, he can suddenly add ages to us or we suddenly feel low on energy. 



You may feel blocked in all that you do as if everyone is playing a part in the play of making sure everything you do, is as difficult as can be. You may notice police all around everywhere you go, causing you to drive slower, walk straighter or feel that way anyway.

Saturn turns a stern eye on you, you can make big improvements now, BUT the key is to go slow, like really slow, don't push yourself and get worked up. Reserve your energy, tell Mars to chill. You can't push things now you are in Saturn's rings, there are limitations to what you can do.  You must make plans, and then take slow and calculated action to move forward. Don't get frustrated and cause more difficulty. ZEN.... then Before you know it, it's over and you have a solid game plan and have learned NOT to take things too seriously or maybe to take things MORE seriously depending on your own personal journey.  

Whichever way the Saturn rings wrap around locking you within his limits and boundaries do what's best and work wisely within them. Keep the focus on your growth and what you want for your life. 

This transit can be similar to Saturn's transit through the 1st in terms of feeling overly burdened with responsibilities, while very low on energy.

Help to survive and make the most of it.

Expect to be low on energy and confidence at first. You may feel anti-social or less communicative don't worry, you are figuring yourself out. Get plenty of sleep, do not stress yourself out it won't do anything for the situation but put you in a deeper funk. 

When hitting resistance, take it as a sign to slow down. Make plans. Work out, change your diet, get rest.

Go slow, no matter what, you need to reserve your energy, pushing too hard will only frustrate you because you will hit the blockage. 

This transit sucks a persons vitality, self-confidence and blocks progress. It often feels burdensome in some way and blockages in moving forward seem to be everywhere. You will be feeling pretty low and frustrated, like your stuck in quicksand. Take a deep breathe and relax, patience is a virtue with this transit. 




Sometimes a difficult event sets off this transit, job loss, relationship ending but not always again this depends on the individual chart and karma.

Alienation: Some, feel like they want to withdraw from others, and this is ok. You are being asked by Saturn to spend some time with yourself, reassess things, make changes etc.

Health Issues: Normally exhaustion or fatigue comes with Saturn but in some cases, issues with teeth, bones or the skeletal system are possible. Also, depression or unsatisfaction play into any illnesses that occur. 

Saturn wants you to evaluate your life, and to take your time to figure things out. Take a time-out. Saturn can make us feel undernourished, emotionally and physically and even spiritually. Yes, he's tough. This is a maturing stage and a reality check where you will learn a lot about yourself. 

Saturn always grounds us, holds us accountable and yet at the same time, refines us, perfects us and allows us personal freedom, and self-love through accomplishments. Just remember he is the great teacher, so listen closely, there is always a powerful lesson.

Saturn Square or Opposite Moon

Emotional growth time! that's nicely said but you know being tested emotionally can be exhausting, to say the least. 

The truth is this transit usually no picnic, were talking Saturn after all and he's all about emotional independence. As Saturn starts approaching your Moon you may begin to feel uncared for or left out. You may have many things to do but are low on energy. Doing basic chores and be burdensome. It's a time when you will spend more time alone and it's usually for a reason. Maybe you have been giving more than you give, it's time to set boundaries. Boundaries are important with all Saturn transits because time is short and there is lot's to do. You can't waste time or effort now, it's just not feasible. 

Sometimes this transit is kicked off with a disappointing event or let down. This may be from someone close to you. The Moon represents women, home the mother and security so issues in any of these areas might pop up. When the disappointments occur it usually is not too much of a surprise but it's more deeply felt now. Saturn will test your relationships with women, people might make heavy demands on you. Whatever leaves now was likely holding you back or not in your best interest and truly needed to end.

Positively!  this is a great time to focus,  especially if you have an air sign moon or have an earth sign Moon, these Moon's fair a bit better but it's still no picnic.  I think water moons will have the most difficult time. This is because Water Moon's are sensitive and receptive and Saturn is cold and dry.  

Negatively, It's possible to feel cut off from your emotions, fluctuating between feeling strong and focused on feeling alone and depressed. If you are a person that has developed solid relationships, always worked hard and well under pressure, then you might not experience this transit as hard. One thing for sure,  you have improved focus and are able to prioritize better. This can be great in terms of making decisions, and just getting things done. The focus is good, and it's helpful for exams. I'm not saying you won't feel emotional sadness at times but you seem to rationalize it or get through it faster. 

The perhaps most difficult part of this transit is usually there is some let down that occurs that seems to leave you feeling hurt. It may be someone close to you. The truth is, whatever disappointments you have now, most likely have happened in the past you are just more sensitive to it now. 




Watch for falling depressed, because of the tiredness and lack of vitality. The Moon is sensitive, emotional and nurturing. Saturn is the opposite, and cold, he's not for babying but instead growing up and making responsible strong people that can weather hardship and build anyway.

On a final note,  Sometimes this transit comes after a breakup, or separation of some sort indicating some alone downtime. Sometimes the individual moves to a new town, away from everyone they once knew. Sometimes the person has a baby, gets married. It's not always a negative situation but sometimes it is. But what's common is more responsibility, in the home or with work, especially if you work from home along with more time alone. 


Saturn Square or Opposite Mercury

Saturn's tests, trials, blockages, insecurities come in areas of communication, transportation, technology, and siblings. 

Remember Saturn shows our weak links exposes or puts the spotlight or becomes critical of 3rd house matters. For example, if you have been working with a computer (technology) long past its due date. You know it's running on way too low memory and takes ions to change pages or constantly freezes or that loose connector that sometimes works but doesn't often, and needs to be fixed.

Whatever has been slowing you down, or not working efficiently and causing you frustration you won't be able to function with it anymore, either by you being fed up! or it finally breaking down.  Yes, it's a financial setback but you will be more efficient and thus will simplify your life a bit. 

If you have been one to speak too fast, or not clearly you may suddenly come across these Saturn critiques that will point this out. You may over think things and it's possible you become too critical of yourself that you find yourself using fewer words to get your point across. Be careful of being too much of a perfectionist that you never put anything out. Realize you are being hard on yourself right now but Yes be open to changes and improvements. You may feel more reserved or too careful with words. If you are a writer you might suddenly feel blocked but really what's happening is you are being far too critical. You can produce some very good work just make sure you put it out. 

It's a good time to learn a new language or subject, maybe learn to drive, or buy a car, or even new technology. 

You may decide to write a book or start a blog or a website. You may decide to start an online business. You may be critiqued on your verbal expression or writing by others acting Saturn out in your life. You may be discouraged initially but don't worry Saturn always builds better. You may find your paperwork increases, and deadlines are moved closer. 

You will be busy but you won't want to rush anything or hurry, you will pay attention to details and take your time to produce good work.

It's also possible your sibling relationships will be tested in some way, and there can be blockages in support from them or they may go through a difficult time in which you will need to spend more time with them. Or they may need your help. 

For each person, the experience will be different, since there are many other factors to consider in order to be more specific to each person. But to sum it up you can experience blockages, challenges, and eventually, refining of all Mercury ruled and 3rd house issues.

Saturn Square or Opposite Venus

You are not a whole lot of fun to be around these days and you may not even realize it. You are impatient, critical and demanding. This is because you are not seeing things as you normally do, no you are looking through Saturn's flaw enhanced glasses. Yes, You are finding fault in just about everything and although much of what you might see now might be valid, you might not want to be so painfully brute in your delivery.  Try remembering that people have feelings and that words can be a sword and although what you see now might be true, it's not necessary to be so harsh. You may be stressed out as well, adding to this behavior perhaps financially? only adding to your frustration. 

You might feel like testing your partners love for you, or making unreasonable demands of them. You will be seeing their faults quite clearly, and this can be a problem for relationships. The pizazz is gone, the coolness sets in and suddenly you question the relationship. Whatever you have been unhappy with you will let them know. The thing is that everyone's faults are enhanced now so you might be difficult to be around for everyone. You will lack tact and you may lose a few friends. Be aware that these things were not bothering so badly in the past and maybe it's really not so bad. However, sometimes these insights are quite telling and helpful in clearing out your life. Just know that you may alienate yourself. Their faults and everyone's around you might become enhanced and things that you use to tolerate before are intolerable now. Relationships can end now but they don't need too. If the relationship is solid then you can grow a deeper connection. Nonetheless, If you are in a love relationship it will be a difficult time now.

In some cases it is the partner that loses interest as a result of your new-found behaviors decide to break away or you may push them away unconsciously or on purpose this transit is tricky. Perhaps you have been unhappy in the relationship if so it's likely to be unbearable now or not worth your time. 

If you are single during this transit, you can start a new romance which can be an older or younger person usually old but not always. However, the relationship won't be without tests as well and may come with many burdens or blockages as well. 

You may find multiple attractions and have difficulty making a decision. The main thing with this transit is a tendency towards impatience, frustration, criticism, and a sort of nonchalant approach to relationships which others might take offense. 

Just realize that you are not acting like yourself and sometimes this can be good, especially if you were the tolerating kind of person or in poor relationships with others. Then yes, this transit will give you the strength to get out or away. 

Saturn's provides the fluorescent lights where not much looks good in that light, it's not the rose-colored glasses of bliss and beauty of Neptune. Usually, if relationships end they were meant to. It is a very tough transit for any relationship to survive because of demanding nature of the person under this transit. This transit is different for everyone, the houses, and the signs matter and will color the experience.




Transiting Saturn Transits Square or Opposite Mars

This transit is usually quite frustrating to be blunt. However, it does not need to be, the key here is" go slow" and all will be fine. You may feel your ability to get around is halted, blocked or in the least slowed down. 

Sometimes a foot injury, car problems, or out of nowhere blockages and frustrations appear to slow you down. You will need a bit of patience and be a bit more cautious than usual.

You may find yourself unable to move forward if this is the case step back and ask yourself is there something else I'm supposed to be focusing on or doing? Maybe your someone always pushing, working too hard, constantly on the go. 

If this is the case this transit will attempt to slow you down, it's always best to plan ahead because if you don't slow down the universe will make you. You will use your energy wisely if you slow down, you will avoid injury too by pushing yourself against all the potential blockage. Make a plan and methodically and carefully follow through. The problem comes when we try to push through Saturn's blockers or hurdles, we find ourselves burnt out, exhausted and frustrated. Instead, plan your day when obstacles pop up go slow, anger only makes this transit more frustrating. 



Transiting Saturn Square or Opposite Jupiter

As with all Saturn's transits, there not lighthearted fun and easy going. Instead, there are blockages. This transit does have a positive side that you will not make foolish decisions but that instead although you may feel like luck is not on your side, or that there can be blockages in accomplishing your goals. Saturn tends to rule here and Jupiter is limited in his gifts and sometimes blocked altogether. However, it's also possible that you gain some slow but steady progress as a result of your hard work. Things won't come easy but if you apply yourself Saturn will help you turn those big dreams into a reality but it will be a slower growth and slower reward.

It's also possible you might question your beliefs or doubt yourself more, don't give in to Saturn's negativity but do know that Saturn builds things that last, well actually you do when you work hard and good and this is what Saturn is about. While we wait for Jupiter to throw some bonuses our way, when Jupiter passes so does the luck. Saturn says you create your luck and it lasts.

Transiting Saturn Square or Opposite Saturn

This is a culmination of your efforts up until now. This is where you will be pushed to take whatever you have made to the next level. You will be tested on what you built thus far and it's ability to carry you into the future successfully. Saturn in hard aspect to himself is a karmic time when rewards will be given but also critiques will be made if one has not been managing their lives accordingly until now. Saturn rules the 10th house of fame, notoriety, a legacy he wants you to make the most of your abilities and turn it into something in which you can be proud of. He will test your foundations and structures for strength and will find the weak link so you can improve in the future. This can be a time of great success or re-evaluation of circumstances and a change of course or action will be needed. Transiting Saturn Square or Opposite Neptune

This can be a dissolving of the illusions time that can leave one feeling discombobulated, out of sorts, defeated, lost, confused, disillusioned and sometimes depressed. Saturn always takes the fun out of things and where you were always the most optimistic, kind, self-sacrificing and deluded is under Saturn's stern judgment he can show us some stuff that will make us question everything we ever believed and how could we have been so blind. Neptune rules the movies and L'Amour and you know the enhanced photo imaging, lighting, hue, to make us look ethereal in some way. Saturn comes around and hits the "undo editing". our "bubble pops", not typically fun.  We don't get to see things elated, glamorized but instead he shows us what's really there and sometimes it can be painful, the truth is stranger than fiction. Whatever illusions you have been living with they are likely to come crashing down now and when your flying so high, the fall is that much harder. The good part is that this transit is passing and there is much to learn from it and many illusions will clear away.

Transiting Saturn Square or Opposite Pluto

This is where Saturn can test your idea and usage of personal power, have you been overusing it or not using it enough. It's possible that you may face challenges but you will have the willpower to overcome them, however stressful they may be. Watch for power struggles with others and if you come across blockages slow down and don't try to push your way through. You might feel a calming of your passions or be find yourself having to calm them. Whichever the case the house where both Saturn and Pluto lie along with the signs will give more information on where you might meet these challenges or blockages and how you will approach them.
